AIDC was formed in 2021 by Director Kimberly Morgan Mullenix. It was her dream to return home and bring this dance form to life through classes and performances. She brings over 25 years of Irish dance teaching experience and love for the art form back to the northeast Tennessee area to share with children and adults alike. Focused on the meaning of the Claddagh, an Irish symbol of hands holding a heart with a crown, we strive to embody Friendship, Loyalty, and Love within our dance school.
Appalachian Opportunity Fund was born out of the work of a $230 million dollar financial institution serving central Appalachia. From 2014 through 2018 the credit union developed an impactful financial coaching model that changed the lives of hundreds of people. When the credit union discontinued the program in 2019, former employees came together to keep the impactful financial coaching program alive. Today, AOF seeks to offer our program to people and communities across northeast Tennessee, and eventually, all of the greater Appalachian region. AOF seeks to stimulate community wealth in Central Appalachia by nurturing individual financial stability.

I’m April, classroom teacher turned full-time photographer. It all started when as a young girl I was intrigued by what my stepmother could produce with a camera & a darkroom. As I got older & had my own family, I wanted to be able to capture all those special moments in images. I immediately fell in love & there was no turning back!
I’ve been a wedding and family photographer for the past 10 years. I have shot over 200 weddings as an associate or main photographer & too many families (and special memories in between) to count! In that time I’ve learned & grown so much. My style has evolved as I have been mentored. I’ve jumped head first into workshops across the country furthering my education while gaining tips, tricks, & advice. I’ve been blessed to learn from some of the best photographers in my area & across the nation!
