Elizabethton Carter County Community Foundation (ECCF) is an affiliate of East Tennessee Foundation. ECCF is an excellent charitable vehicle for donors who wish to contribute to the legacy of Elizabethton Carter County, both now and in the future. ECCF provides endowment options which result in grants for local projects, programs, and organizations. ECCF operates via a local advisory board of community volunteers who decide when, where, and how to accomplish impact in and for Elizabethton/Carter County.

Elizabethton Electric Department (EED) was founded in 1945 as a publicly owned power distributor. EED buys electricity generated by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), and distributes it for sale to its customers.
EED provides electric power to over 26,000 customers in a distribution area covering over 129 square miles, and includes over $102,508,913 in assets in four counties and four cities and towns in Northeast Tennessee. This area includes portions of Carter, Sullivan, Unicoi, and Washington Counties; and the cities of Elizabethton, Watauga, Johnson City, and Town of Unicoi.
EED owns and maintains one Primary and eight Distribution substations and over 820 miles of line. EED purchases over 540 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity from TVA annually, at a cost of about 39 million dollars annually. Each fiscal year, EED pays approximately $1,906,000 in tax equivalents to its constituent counties and cities.
EED is governed by the City Council of the City of Elizabethton and is a department of the City.

The Elizabethton Housing and Development Agency is a federal subsidized, non-profit corporation governed by Federal and State law under the directions of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). A cooperation agreement with the City of Elizabethton establishes a governing body existing of five Commissioners appointed by the Mayor to serve a five year term. The EHDA provides structurally sound, safe housing, to low and moderate income families through the Public Housing, Section Eight Voucher, and Section Eight Moderate Rehab programs.
Kiwanis Club of Elizabethton is an organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. Our members help shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, mentor the disadvantaged and care for the sick. We develop young leaders, build playgrounds, raise funds for pediatric research and more.
