Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for numbers and a flair for organization? We are seeking a bookkeeper to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in helping our clients manage their financial transactions effectively. If you have a strong background in bookkeeping (payroll processing a plus), outstanding communication skills, and a drive to excel, we want to hear from you!

Let’s talk about some of the downsides of this position first:

  • We can’t pay the same wages/benefits as a large corporation.
  • Hours will begin part-time, but as you start to get more familiar with our business and how to do the work, we’d love for you to join us full-time.
  • If you’re looking to make a lot of money or want to begin immediately with full-time hours, we are not the right fit.
  • We have deadlines we have to meet (clients and tax agencies want their reports on time!)

Now to the positives:

  • This is a remote position. You will be expected to look professional when on video calls with prospects or clients, but you’ll be able to wear comfortable attire.
  • The work is never the same. Although the work is similar, each client has specific tasks that need to be accomplished which could include accounts payable and/or receivable, sales tax, payroll processing, 1099 filings, and more.
  • We can offer more flexible hours than a typical 9-5 position. A schedule is created, but we can consider family needs and adjust if needed. We have staff in 3 time zones.
  • You will be empowered to make decisions. I don’t like to micromanage.

Bookkeeper: Overview of the position:

  • Recording client financial transactions and reconciling accounts.
  • Scheduling sales tax prepayments/filing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Creating financial reports to enable informed decision-making.
  • Processing annual 1099/1096/ACA forms as needed.
  • Payroll processing and managing payroll taxes/returns.
  • Perform bookkeeping reviews to find any issues in prospect data files to determine clean-up work necessary.
  • Assist with reviewing scope of work listed in proposals to verify everything is included.
  • A Plus: Utilizing analytical skills to forecast trends, analyze cash flow, create budgets, and determine financial ratios.

Skills we’re looking for:

  • Proficiency in QBO software a plus, with an eagerness to learn new software as required.
  • Understanding of bookkeeping processes and the ability to apply them effectively.
  • Detail-oriented to be able to catch mistakes/oversights
  • A professional demeanor and appearance, representing our company with pride.
  • Organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines without compromising accuracy.
  • Punctuality and an excellent attendance record, ensuring consistent support to our clients.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, taking initiative to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • A person of integrity demonstrating an excellent work ethic.
