4th of July Celebration

Partnering with the Elizabethton Rotary Club
 
Elizabethton, Tennessee is the birthplace of American Democracy and is the ideal place to celebrate July 4th! The Veterans War Memorial on Armed Forces Drive to the Monument with the mountainous background, forms a beautiful and patriotic backdrop to America's Independence Day celebrations. This is a community event, beginning with a parade along Historic Elk Avenue, a spectacular community block party and ending the day with an Antique Car Show sponsored by the Carter County Antique Car Club. The following is a guide to all of the 4th of July events in Elizabethton.
 
PARADE FLOATS
Anyone can enter a float in the Fourth of July Celebration Parade. Download the Float Application, read carefully, fill out completely, enclose fees and mail to the Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce at P.O. Box 190, Elizabethton, TN 37644. Please direct all inquires regarding the parade to the Chamber of Commerce at 423.547.3859 or email frontdesk@tourelizabethton.com

PARADE VENDING
Anyone interested in submitting an application for vending for the Fourth of July Celebration can download the 2010 Vending Application below, read carefully, fill out completely, enclose fees and mail to the Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce at P.O. Box 190, Elizabethton, TN 37644 or fax to 423-547-3854.

PARADE ROUTE
Parking is available on streets and lots behind Elk Avenue. No Parking on Elk Avenue, Armed Forces Drive, and Riverside and E Street. Parade route below.
 

STREET CLOSINGS
Various surrounding streets will be closed. Friday, July 2nd  at 6:00 p.m. Riverside Drive and E Street to Sycamore Drive will be closed to set-up for the Block Party. Saturday, July 3rd 8 a.m. closings will include Elk Avenue, Riverside and E Street, Armed Forces Drive. Elk Avenue will reopen after the parade and cleanup.

BeckMountainCorn Maze Announces July 4th Celebration       
 
The third annual Fourth of July Celebration at Beck Mountain Corn Maze kicks off Sunday, July 4 at 4 p.m.  This year’s celebration, sponsored by Big John’s  Closeouts and Gentry Drywall, will feature live bands, BBQ, children’s activities, dunk tank, corn hole games, pony pile bingo, fireworks and an inspirational tribute to America and its Veterans.
 
This year’s celebration will feature the first annual East Tennessee Hollerin’ Contest.  Come out and “holler till you turn blue” as prizes will be awarded to the best male and female hollerin’ champion. Contestants must register by July 2 at the Chamber of Commerce.  There is no fee to participate.
 
In addition, the Russian bluegrass band, Country Saloon, returns to Beck Mountain beginning at 4:30 p.m.  Don’t miss the exciting, hard-driving original bluegrass of Country Saloon, as they travel the world bringing their own bluegrass style to East Tennessee.
 
A local favorite, Music Memories, will headline at 6:30 p.m. with their own brand of oldies.  Fireworks will follow at around 10 p.m.
 
There is no admission fee!  A parking fee of $2 per vehicle will be charged.
 
Additional parking and staff have been added this year as the celebration continues to grow. So come early, bring a chair and blanket and help celebrate with food, fun, friends and fireworks.
